Welcome to Dinner Plus Drinks, everybody.
SPEAKER_02Welcome.
SPEAKER_03This week we're doing things a little different because, well, we have an event tomorrow.
SPEAKER_02And we know that Simona can't screw it up if we do it this way.
SPEAKER_03Thanks, Simona. We um are actually recording live and it is Winterfest weekend. Things are fun and exciting in town, so we thought we'd have a little fun.
SPEAKER_02We have a pancake breakfast on Saturday morning that we did some setup for at Horticultural Hall, a lovely venue for your next uh wedding, family reunion, uh baby shower, bridal shower, dungeons and dragons gathering. Whatever. So we did a little uh little bit of that. We went to lunch at one of our favorite places, Clock Tower.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it was so good. I haven't been there in a little while, and I'm mad at myself.
SPEAKER_02Bridget had a smash burger, I had a euro.
SPEAKER_03And the best French fries in town, I think.
SPEAKER_02And it was great. It was delish. We headed across the street. We're having a beer at Topsy Turvy. That's right, another favorite place of ours. And we decided it would just be a good way to do a Winterfest episode. We've done them in the past.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so go back and listen and check out. I think we have two years, of it.
SPEAKER_02We did one with uh interviewing some sculptors and some people around town about like memories and things like that. Who can forget the cars through the ice comes up every year.
SPEAKER_03Yes. I've seen it all over Facebook again this year. My kids actually asked me about it. Uh so yeah, so we thought we'd love to go visit some of our favorite businesses in Lake Geneva and check out a really cool event that our town does, and we're gonna take you along with us.
SPEAKER_02Alright, guys, we've we've made it down to the Riviera Beach area. Winterfest 2022. And so far we've seen a dog attacking another dog that gave Bridget a mild anxiety attack.
SPEAKER_03I wish I was recording because it was great. I thought they looked like best friends and or more than friends.
SPEAKER_02And now we're looking for Elliot.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we're on the hunt because I forgot his classroom got gets to come down to the snow sculptures today, and it is totally his recess time, so he should be down here, and I can't find him.
SPEAKER_02So we start screaming Elliot in the middle of this thing.
SPEAKER_03Listen, he wears an orange coat and bright blue pants. We can find him.
SPEAKER_02We are in front of block one, New York 2.
SPEAKER_03Wow, look at we started in order. Okay, so we're gonna tell you all about these sculptures, guys. So sorry you can't see them.
SPEAKER_02And it's a man with a long beard flowing out. It's like an hourglass, and his his his head is chopped off by the top of the hourglass. I don't know if you turn it upside down how it'd work, but he's like a bearded man.
SPEAKER_03He is like a bearded man. Um, when they finish, do you think they're gonna get all like so it looks like it's gonna be tons of hairy tendrils at the bottom?
SPEAKER_02So they've carved it off at the bottom. Do you think they can reattach now once they've done?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think you can. I don't know, it feels real cold too.
SPEAKER_02I don't know the rules. Yeah, it's probably too cold to reshape like that.
SPEAKER_03Can you get it wet? I don't know. Can you reattach?
SPEAKER_02I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Is there already someone behind us laughing at us? Is that what you're looking at?
SPEAKER_02There are people. There are people. So this one's good. This one's good. I like it. The artist statement, it's a phenomenon that we can all relate to. Yeah, one that's hard to understand, and really no, I don't, I'm done with this one.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, okay. I was like, Nick, this one's not my favorite.
SPEAKER_02This, yeah.
SPEAKER_03I may have a favorite because I have done a preview of this, guys. So I'm cheating already.
SPEAKER_02Moving to block two, Michigan.
SPEAKER_03Oh, my kids love this one. Oh, this one's cool. Yeah, because they say that it's a reindeer. It's called look at that dare buck A. That dare buck A, which is hilarious because it's Michigan. Um, let's see, a buck sporting a rack of antlers can be a breathtaking sight if you're a hiker or hunter.
SPEAKER_02It appears to be an eight-pointer dairy. I'm surprised they didn't do a uh 30-point buck.
SPEAKER_03I'm sorry. This is the best. We have nothing else to say except it appears to be an eight-pointer day.
SPEAKER_02Um, there's uh some leaves surrounding it and some acorns. Uh, or as some people might say, a twig and three berries.
SPEAKER_03The looks we're getting, everybody. But this one's well done. I like this. I like the um antlers. You know, looks like I'm scared that they're not gonna stand, but it's pretty damn cold, so they probably will.
SPEAKER_02If I was them, I might wear Santa hats while I'm doing this because it does look like a rain man. And that would get you points on the From the Children vote. Yeah, the People's Choice Vote. And we all know that's very coveted.
SPEAKER_03From Lucy Lee. She was the voice.
SPEAKER_02I mean, Simona too will be like, ah, Santa! Or you might disappoint all the children as it's it's not Santa.
SPEAKER_03As it turns out it is not. Bummer.
SPEAKER_02Moving on to block three.
SPEAKER_03So this one I'll tell you as we're walking up to it, I love already because it's Olympics themed and we love the Olympics.
SPEAKER_02I'm protesting the Olympics in support of all the people that China is killing.
SPEAKER_03And um, I think it's India that doesn't like who was chosen for their um flag to carry their flag, so none of them are watching.
SPEAKER_02Uh oh. So what is that- oh no, the the the the Indians don't like it.
SPEAKER_03What happened? Okay, so this is actually two sculptures? I'm confused. Or is it the two sides that we're looking at?
SPEAKER_02Oh, I think it's the two sides.
SPEAKER_03Well, because what is that guy working on?
SPEAKER_02Oh, it is two sculptures. I didn't know that was legal.
SPEAKER_03Whoa, is it legal? Or do they not care? Maybe they care more about the art and less about the vote.
SPEAKER_02I'm all for, you know, people doing it. It's the Royal and Supreme Order of Snow and Sand Sculptors and Shovelers. Oh, it's probably hosted at the Cove of like Geneva.
SPEAKER_03Olympic Dreams.
SPEAKER_02So it's uh it appears to be a flame with a cauldron and people doing things to that flame.
SPEAKER_03I cannot really tell if it's two sides of it or if it's two different.
SPEAKER_02I too am confused.
SPEAKER_03You guys, we're gonna have to return later to see when they've made further progress so we can have a better idea of what's happening.
SPEAKER_02Now, Black Four here, it it appears to be a classic style of there's always, you know, someone with too big of a face. You know, they have a lot of big faces.
SPEAKER_03I love the big face ones.
SPEAKER_02I I do too. It's it's you can see the detail and so they also they're from Wisconsin, so yeah. Yeah, go Wisconsin. Wisconsin won.
SPEAKER_03Team Wisconsin always gets like this prime location right here, one of the team Wisconsin's. Because there's usually like three or three.
SPEAKER_02Did you know there's like a huge strategy to that?
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_02So to their location? Yeah, so it's they draw balls, and whoever gets ball one gets first pick of location. Yeah, because like I can't remember exactly how it is, but you want like a certain type of sun at a certain time, and it depends on the weather, and like sometimes you want the wind off the lake, sometimes you don't. There's a huge amount of strategy. I mean, I always wondered actually because maybe we should call one of our sculptor friends and ask them to.
SPEAKER_03Well, we should go to Team Avant because I'll tell you right now they're my favorite sculpture design. Maybe we can ask them.
SPEAKER_02This is yeah, so it's uh called uh Deeper Connections, and it's a heart and two people back to back.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I just really I I'm curious how they're gonna get so like the people look like they have like kind of tattoos, um, like henna looking things. I'm curious how they're gonna get it. Their hearts are connected. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Maybe they're Siamese twins.
SPEAKER_03Well, speaking of twins, wait till you see this next one.
SPEAKER_02I was gonna say you're a twin, but how do you connect? Is that a twin?
SPEAKER_03Do you feel like a twin? Don't you know other twins? No, but check this one out. This is maybe not twins, but it is two kids. This one was is so funny. Because you know what I love about this one? I haven't seen something like this. You know, we've been looking at cell trips for years at Winterfest. And I love it. Illinois 2. It's called babies. Yeah, second Illinois team, block number five. And it's a toddler-looking girl like ripping the pacifier out of a baby boy's mouth.
SPEAKER_02This might be my kid corner, because this literally happened to Simona this week, where she came home. Which him was guess which one? Lucy? No, not Lucy. Jamar? Jamar. I we shouldn't name and shame Jamar, but I like Jamar. He got uh he ripped the pacifier out of Simona's mouth. She came home with a bunch of scars.
SPEAKER_03Oh sorry.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, this is good. I like that. This one's so fun. This is really cool.
SPEAKER_03My kids thought it was funny. I came down with both of them, and I said, Lucy, is that you taking this from Elliot? Haha.
SPEAKER_02You know, where their hangup's gonna be is making sure the faces are done right, I think.
SPEAKER_03And that pacifier. And the hands. It's all about the facial expression, and as you can see, they're still working on that part.
SPEAKER_02I mean, they got it good in the uh clay sculpture version of it, I would say.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, so if you haven't yet been to Winterfest, they um get big blocks of snow, but every sculpting team does, I think every team does, um like a little mini clay sculpture.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they have to turn those in for approval. Oh, do they? Yeah, because you don't want to have another one of those Donald Trump sculptures.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, that was a fascinating year. I wonder what happened to this position.
SPEAKER_02I don't think they had enough teams. When the Lake Street Beautification Committee went and redid the whole Riviera Park without consulting anybody else, they thought they had enough spots for a bunch of sculptures, and it turned out some of those were like really not great spots. Oh, unfortunate. So they've moved them over to Flatiron Park over there.
SPEAKER_03Well, I'm glad. Here, alright, so we're at Team Florida here now. Ha ha.
SPEAKER_02Uh actually it's sponsored by Flowrida. Flowrider? Yeah, and it's called Team Flowrider.
SPEAKER_03We love when a warm weather climate has to come and do this. Um, they chose to, and a lot of those teams actually start by doing sandcastle competitions.
SPEAKER_02That pay better.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, do they?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I've been told that it's warmer. I mean, and you're on a beach.
unknownBut whatever.
SPEAKER_02You probably, you know, like can you imagine if you're one of the handsome ones and you're like on a beach sculpting stand, the ladies are probably like, wow, wow. You're like, hey, party at my house after this.
SPEAKER_03I gotta like, I don't I can't see what's going on because you know there's people and stuff. Uh so what? Can you see the picture?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it appears to be um a lady. Yeah, uh oh a geisha. It is a geisha with like the fan and everything and like a gota behind her.
SPEAKER_03So do you think the fan is done or are they working on more details?
SPEAKER_02I think they gotta work on some more details. I think their strategy might be get out the structure first. Yeah. Um, and then work on the details so at least we have something.
SPEAKER_03So this used to be my most fun night um when I was much younger on Friday nights. Go to Fat Cats? We would go we would come down to the bars and then after bar time come down and the sculptors I think can work through the night on Fridays. So yeah.
SPEAKER_02They usually have you know stocked up at Fat Cats first.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you could come like not bring them a beer because that's illegal. Um to come down and stand on to them and like see their work in the middle of the night, you know.
SPEAKER_02They're a talented artist and talented drinkers. That's all I'm gonna say.
SPEAKER_03They're really fun people. Elliot actually this year told me we like to come down on Wednesday on the first day and kind of just see the start. And Elliot told me he wanted to be a professional snow sculptor, so I'll figure that out now.
SPEAKER_02There's a really cool infographic here that uh shows all of the tools and everything. So if you're interested in this being an educational experience, you can also be educated. And if he wants to be a professional sculptor, he needs to know those things.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, shoot. I was not sure I said, Elliot, why don't you ask one of these nice people how to get started? Then he got shy. Uh-huh. I'm so sad that we have not found Elliot yet, okay? Have we missed him?
SPEAKER_02I see fiddlesticks on wheels providing food here.
SPEAKER_03Yep, and there's a warming tent here with some kind of warm beverage.
SPEAKER_02Crucially, it's not a food truck, it's a food trailer because we know food trucks.
SPEAKER_03I hope okay, I have nothing to say here. I have nothing nice to say here. Oh, this is we've got kettle corn, hot chocolate, and water. That's great. A great new addition.
SPEAKER_02We have um, let's see, what else do we have?
SPEAKER_03We're like side fireplace. If you can't tell, we're walking over to Flatiron Park now to see the remaining sculptures.
SPEAKER_02They do have Oh, the kids are all sculpting right now.
SPEAKER_03But I don't know how they do this because that's not my kids' school. I know that.
SPEAKER_02They're old children.
SPEAKER_03So I don't know, maybe it's woods, maybe it's high school.
SPEAKER_02So all the like fancy little schools that only have like 20 people get a go, and the big public schools don't get a go.
SPEAKER_03Cool, that's great.
SPEAKER_02Because they can't handle that in my kids. Because it's cold outside, and we're gonna get you some product recommendations from the one and only Sean Payne, frequent guest, mayor of Lake Geneva, Clearwater Autor Manager, knows all the things. We saw a lot of cold people. Sean, what are your top tips for cold weather gear? Yes, cold cold weather gear that's warm.
SPEAKER_01Socks. That's the key. Wool socks. Yeah. The fit socks, the smart wools. That way when your feet stay warm and a hat, of course, most of your heat goes out of your top of your head. And then the hand warmers and the foot warmers to put in your gloves or in your boots to make your feet even warmer. Okay. A lot of people have forgotten stuff when they've come up here, especially with the ice castles and the snow sculptures, so we're selling hats and gloves. And the hotties faster than we can keep them in stock.
SPEAKER_03We were saying people look woefully underprepared down there, and we thought, who will know best? Sean will know best.
SPEAKER_01They are woefully. But not this person, she's all decked out. You're gonna have good boots. But that is key. Warm socks, wool, hat, gloves.
SPEAKER_02Wool base layer. You used to be able to go to Fleming's and get a good wool sweater. Not anymore, but now you can come get your good socks at Clearwater Outdoor. You heard it from Sean. That's our product recommendation. We'll be right back. This is North Dakota. Okay. Here they be dragons. Yeah, so it's like a sea dragon.
SPEAKER_03And I think he's engulfing a boat, right?
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, it's a Viking longship.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Oh, this is cool.
SPEAKER_03There's I feel like a Viking theme is a is one that um is popular for these, right? For the sculptures.
SPEAKER_02I think a lot of the the sculptor types, you know, like to channel their Norsemen.
SPEAKER_03There is a gentleman that I recognize from previous years, big long white beard. Yep. Um, he's here every year. Looks like a Viking.
SPEAKER_02Alaska. This is right at home Alaska. As we emerge, it appears to be um some type of terrifying Hornet dragon. Is it a murderer? Yeah, emerging from somebody's hands.
SPEAKER_03Like this one's terrifying. This one looked like the Pokemon to me, which might mean nothing to you, but it looked like a Pokemon to me. Coming like the Pokemon Eevee, for those of you listening. Coming out of a set of hands. That's what it looks like. That's me named.
SPEAKER_02There's gonna be there's gonna be a lot of detail work that needs to happen on this one. And they have right off the lake, so the wind makes that harder. This one's beautiful looking so far. New Hampshire.
SPEAKER_03Oh, birth of snow. Breaking news. This is a new drawing. Oh, is this? This has changed since Wednesday. Oh wow. I'm fairly confident if I remember correctly, this used to be more of like it was like an egg with Mother Nature Winter like emerging out of the egg. Uh-oh, something broke. Something is wrong, and that you can see as they have taped a new drawing over it. So I wonder how that works. If you have to get approval or what I I don't know. It's still the same idea in that it's called birth of snow. So this now is like a woman with a large snowflake. What color was he wearing?
SPEAKER_02Not creepy at all. We're not here for your kids. We're looking for our kids. Sad. I'm so sad.
SPEAKER_03He's you guys, how fun. I could have been the creepy mom, embarrassing his own.
SPEAKER_02There's uh the statue of Andy Gump. Beloved, beloved.
SPEAKER_03Elliot did ask who that was, and I could not give him an answer besides Andy Gump.
SPEAKER_02You know, my grandfather was born on his estate. My great grandfather was his uh yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh, history lesson. This one, everybody, is my favorite. Vermont? Yes, it is Roaring Peace, is its name. And I love it because it looks like a uh it reminds me of a Banksy piece. And if you don't know about it.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, it does look like a Banksy.
SPEAKER_03So if you see there's a maybe one of them is Banksy. Maybe are you Banksy? Do you know who Banksy is? Like this is like a street artist, a graffiti artist? And this has a feel of like um the woman with the flower. Yeah, so this one's my favorite one.
SPEAKER_02So you probably are Banksy or it's like, no, you because he's a secret. Nobody knows who it is.
SPEAKER_03No one knows his like identity. You're playing it off well. But so yeah, this one's been my my favorite. Well, you know, we've I came uh we've come down since Wednesday. Oh, yeah, yeah. Is he the one that does the uh cat on the corner with a big slide in the rap stuff? Of like street art. Yeah, so that's Banksy. He's my favorite. He just goes and street. He does it in the dark of night and no people don't know his identity. Yeah, well, look at you channeled him without even knowing. So anyway, we love this one. Yep, we're local, we live here, so we come down every day and check the progress. My kid's class just came down here. He's like over there somewhere, I think.
SPEAKER_00So you missed it. I've been encouraging the kids to give me their roar.
SPEAKER_03Oh, so we have to roar.
SPEAKER_02That's awesome.
SPEAKER_03I love it. Thanks, guys. Good luck. See, I picked the right team, guys. You did. There's a hovercraft. Wisconsin 2. Wisconsin 2. Yeah, this is um uh abstract.
SPEAKER_02When grief takes wings, love remains.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. You guys breaking news. We are coming right up right upon a class. Do you think we're gonna find Elliot?
SPEAKER_02Do we are we gonna find Elliot? I am Hello, I'm looking for my child.
SPEAKER_03Hello, I'm creepily stalking my child on accident.
SPEAKER_02So here's another team Illinois, and they appear to have a GoPro time lapse going on themselves, which is smart, right?
SPEAKER_03Smart marketing right there, everybody. I'd love to watch a GoPro time lapse of this. Wait, um, so you can see their drawings, their sketch lines of where they're gonna cut, which I think is really fun.
SPEAKER_02This is like looks like Job of the Hut. No, it's Alice and Chains, but it does look like Job of the Hut. So it's like Job of the Hut and the um oh, they even say it's a band from the 90s so an iconic scene from a space movie and mix it with a classic fairy tale. Haha. What if they're real carefully playing in the background? It always played in the background. This one's really cool. This is my favorite.
SPEAKER_03We recognize this team. They've been here for many years. This is a good one. I recognize their hats and his beard.
SPEAKER_02Uh, this is my favorite. I bet Tyler would like this one.
SPEAKER_03Whoa, so this team seems to be almost done.
SPEAKER_02Love is perpetual. The more you give, the more you receive.
SPEAKER_03Colorado's pro acting in the show.
SPEAKER_02Well, it looks like they need to uh finish up some detail work, but detail work is harder on this side with the wind coming on.
SPEAKER_03They have a nice little quote here that says, Love is perpetual, the more you give, the more you receive. That's so great. Thanks, Rick.
SPEAKER_02So there's a number of people that appear to have like different tools this year and like using snow differently. And so I wonder if like the rules changed a little bit.
SPEAKER_03The number of people that are staring at us is something I can never get past. Is this Elliot? I don't none of these children. Are you Elliot? Is Elliot here? These kids are. Do you know Elliot? None of these people are teachers I recognize. Maybe this is not Central Denison.
SPEAKER_02There's Bach 14 New York, which is a it's called screwed.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, this one's funny. I tried to explain this to my children in a like child-friendly way.
SPEAKER_02And it's a screw going into a piece of wood. Yeah. And it's like splitting, and it's funny.
SPEAKER_03But speaking of different tools, it looks like they have like little screws or like little things stuck in there. I don't know what that is.
SPEAKER_02I think like I there's some things I haven't seen here before. Yeah. There I think the rules had to have changed. I know. We should go find Fred and ask him.
SPEAKER_03Well, yeah, you should. Fred. We'll have to re-look up some of the rules here. Hi, Abby. You guys can't come down here without seeing some people. That is that is Abby, who used to work at the daycare where our kids were, and now she works at the schools.
SPEAKER_02Finally, we come to Block 15 Iowa.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, the Triffless Snow Sculptors, and it's a Pegasus, I believe, coming to terms. It looks like a Pegasus looking in the mirror.
SPEAKER_03The Guardian of Truth shackled and gravely wounded.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I feel like uh this is a commentary on um society and where we're at as a country.
SPEAKER_03I will say, in general, I think these pieces have been less political, which is refreshing. They've been just like nicer, more artistic, and like, you know, generally flipping a coin, one side says truth and one says untruth. Okay, so you know, generally less political.
SPEAKER_02This is funny.
SPEAKER_03And then so if you turn right around, you we're looking at our nice frozen lake and we have um hovercraft rides, which have you done?
SPEAKER_02No, I haven't.
SPEAKER_03We have some friends that did it this morning.
SPEAKER_02So we built a hovercraft once.
SPEAKER_03Oh, why didn't you ride it?
SPEAKER_02We did, I wrote it in a play for DI.
SPEAKER_03That's the same.
SPEAKER_02We have um this ridiculous joy statue thing here, just like randomly chilling out.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, they had to do it.
SPEAKER_02That made a lot of sense for Christmas, and I don't know why.
SPEAKER_03Listen, I like it. I wanted to take my picture by it, but they had to move it to an unfortunate spot.
SPEAKER_02Because it didn't, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Unfortunate.
SPEAKER_02So, um, yeah, let's go let's go wrap this up somewhere else where it's not so cool.
SPEAKER_03We'll check in soon.
SPEAKER_02One of the things about Winterfest is parking is difficult. But luckily, we're friends with Seth Elder, like Geneva. What's what's your actual real job title?
SPEAKER_00Uh parking operations manager.
SPEAKER_02Wow. So my first question is should people park on the ice?
SPEAKER_00Well, we we try to discourage it. Of course, it's not illegal, uh, especially you know if you're an ice fisherman, an experienced uh ice goer, as it were. But uh you know, you'll recall we had an incident in the municipal before your watch. Uh previous to my watch, yeah. Uh where we had probably way too many vehicles parked in way too small of an area, condensed area on the ice. And uh, you know, if you're gonna go out there, make sure you know the thickness, make sure you know how much your vehicle weighs, and definitely you want to spread out. Don't treat it like the parking lot at Lambeau Field.
SPEAKER_02Uh what other parking advice in the city of Lake Geneva do you have? Are there hidden gems? What do people need to know about parking in Lake Geneva?
SPEAKER_00Well, probably there are a couple best kept secrets, but one of them, particularly on the Winterfest weekend, is the remote parking shuttle. So one may park at either the Home Depot lot or uh just north of there at the ServePro lot, jump on the shuttle bus and it drops off right downtown in front of U.S. Bank. Shuttle runs about every 20 minutes on a loop, and uh it's it's free, free of charge, just a value add for visitors.
SPEAKER_02Wow, that's incredible. Absolutely incredible. Seth, thank you for uh joining us sharing your wisdom. You're incredible.
SPEAKER_00My pleasure, my pleasure.
SPEAKER_02Alright, so hopefully it wasn't too windy. We spoke into our phones. So we tried. It should be good.
SPEAKER_03There were dogs barking and hovercrafts hovering.
SPEAKER_02And uh the the Banksy one. That was really cool.
SPEAKER_03I know, and I hope my raw wasn't too loud. It probably was. So you're welcome.
SPEAKER_02So my kid corner was already about the pacifier getting ripped from Simona's face. So funny. And her selling the kid out that did it. And we're like, always Jamar. Should we believe that it was Jamar that did it? Because like, it's Jamar.
SPEAKER_03Because it's Jamar.
SPEAKER_02We know it's Jamar, but. But she never would be like, uh, can you trust your kid ratting another kid out? Like, are they just saying it because you laugh because you're like, oh, it's always Jamar. Yes.
SPEAKER_03I mean, I thought about Kid Corner this week before we decided we're gonna do a special on it, and I was like, I just can't. I can't make fun of my kids this week. We had a traumatic week with Lucy, and I just I just gotta pull a nick and say I'm really grateful my kids are okay and alive this week.
SPEAKER_02Guys, don't feed your kids carrots.
SPEAKER_03No, man, Lucy choked on a carrot. That's the short version, and it was very scary, but she's fine.
SPEAKER_02There was puke involved.
SPEAKER_03There was a lot of puke and um a lot of scary moments, and Tyler is a saint.
SPEAKER_02And think uh he his hand size that he can hold her and things. Wow.
SPEAKER_03Um, moms and caretakers and babysitters and dads and anyone watching a child, go take a CPR class and um make sure you can save a kid's life if you need to. It's gonna come in handy one day.
SPEAKER_02We hope you enjoyed this Winterfest episode.
SPEAKER_03Get down to Lake Giva. If you didn't like us trying to describe these sculptures, you can see them because it's freezing cold. They'll last a while.
SPEAKER_02We're also gonna post all the pictures on our Facebook. Yeah. And uh maybe a little bit of commentary there with the.
SPEAKER_03Maybe we'll make you vote. That'll be fun.
SPEAKER_02Maybe we'll do this as a video version that like it's just us talking with a static picture, and you can see how our descriptions go up against the pictures.
SPEAKER_03And be like, you didn't describe that at all. There was definitely something I was like, this one's boring, let's move on.
