Yes, we have a new house. We've been in the process, uh, or as to say in Canada, the process of building a new house for the past seems like a year. But it popped up pretty quickly. It popped up pretty fast. The whole start not in your head, yeah. The whole start of, okay, let's pick out a plan, let's get the stuff picked. It's been a while. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Started last May. Oh, so a year exactly, huh? And then the actual building process started. I'm sorry, process. Started on December 23rd. Well, we're in America, so it's okay if you say process. Well, Canada's in America too. Okay, okay, moving on. So we're here now, and uh, we're in the finished portion of the basement. Yeah. This will not be our permanent studio home.

And every other room is just a disaster. So that's a gift in and of itself, I think.

Simple is doing Mexican this weekend. Everybody knows we love Simple. Yep. Uh Bridget's sister that doesn't live in Seattle. The other one works there. I have so many people. Her name's Shannon. Oh, is that what her name is? Hi, Shannon. Hi, Shannon. So we're getting nachos tonight. Nachos are Sarah's favorite thing in the world. And then I'm making her chicken nachos a la Nick style on Sunday for Mother's Day.

He and Elliot are scheming something up. Um, and I don't know what it is, but I I was given a really awesome article from a friend about like, here's what we really want for Mother's Day, which is like, just like let me sleep in a little while.

I'm prepared for like mean high school kids. I'm not prepared to deal with toddlers. But here I am dealing with a toddler. Toddler? I don't really know if four is toddler anymore.

Yeah, guys, you're welcome. Um, because I can't make a decision. Oh, I need to go get cups. BRB. Well, Nick is getting cups. I'm gonna tell you about all the things I love to drink in the different versions. So I love bubbles. My sister, me, you know, you've heard us talk about bubbly water. Well, so when it comes to having an alcoholic drink, I love bubbles. So my favorite drink of all time is I don't know the name of it, so we just made it up. Uh we had it at my rehearsal dinner, and it is Saint Germain gin, and I'm a Hendrix person. I love Hendrix and champagne. And then, like, you I think we put like a splash of pink lemonade in it to make it look pretty. Um, but also a French 75. So I'm telling them all about the Bridget, the drink that doesn't have a name that we're gonna call the Bridget. And then we were just starting to talk about French 75. Similar, except a drink. Instead of a haircut, and you're not quite as iconic. Since we talked about Shannon and you brought the Rachel up, Shannon, should I share the photo of your fifth grade haircut that was like the Rachel? She went into the salon and was like, I need it to look like Rachel from Friends. It didn't turn out that way. Okay, so you heard the bubbles. Um, French 75, if you don't know what's in that champagne, lemon juice, sugar, and gin again. Champagne. So we do have champagne, we do have my favorite Hendrix, some lemon juice and some sugar. So we're enjoying these in really classy glasses right now because that's the best way to do it.

The first thing I unpacked was the red solo cups because we had some sparkling wine. The stuff was at the house, so the real glasses weren't out there, and we needed something to have the sparkling wine in that was not the bottle.

So the way we combat coronavirus instead of the communal whiskey jug pour it into the It's the only reason we're not all drinking out of the same bottle right now is. Otherwise, it'd just be pass it around.

Or you can just throw some cranberry juice in with your bubbles. We call those poinsettas in my family.

Well, so we talked already about some things that we loved eating and things we think we're gonna love eating. What was your favorite thing from this past week?

So we did Jack's frozen cheese pizza, which was our favorite. It is our tradition. First night at the new condo at the new condo when it was new. Now the old condo. We had a Jack's frozen pizza. We got engaged over a Jack's frozen pizza. I didn't know that. Oh, that's a long time. We were between um engagements. Uh-huh. And so we had a Jack's frozen pizza and got engaged over that Jack's Frozen Pizza. So every Christmas Eve that's what we eat.

Uh when we finally sell the old place, we'll have a Jack's Frozen pizza, and the first meal we had here was a Jack's frozen pizza. Cheese thing cross.

Is it absolutely delicious? Also, yes. Also, yes. Does it make us cry about how far we've come? Is it hilarious that we're instead of having one of these fancy pants pizzas that we're just eating like the cheap, crappy frozen pizza that is so, so good. So good. There's nothing wrong with it. Don't care. It was the best thing we had. All the memories, all the tears. Food should be a place over memories.

So tons of restaurants doing great things, but um, simple, champs, and takariya, which I never said the full name of because I'm not gonna try. Oh, come on. Nope, not doing it. Takario the Gayo Oro. So Nick hadn't, so I'm gonna pretend all of you haven't seen this, okay? Um, there is a restaurant in Amsterdam that's doing quarantine greenhouses so diners can eat while social distancing.

They can do other things inside that very tiny greenhouse. This greenhouse is completely visible with see-through. What it reminded me of is like all the igloos that you see around the holidays, you know. So it's like the exact same thing, but these are like much more well-constructed, adorable little mini greenhouses. So um, great job, Amsterdam. It's a vegan restaurant, actually, or vegetarian. I know, but it is like check out the article, just Google like quarantine greenhouses. And they're doing, they're being very creative, like serving on a six-foot wood plank is like how they get your food in there. Oh, that's cool. It just looks beautiful. Um, last I read, they were like testing it with the local government, and it was in a test phase and not yet fully approved, but I am rooting for you. I'll be right over there.

You had packing, you had Star Wars Day, Cinco de Mayo, moving, big, big week. Child not sleeping. Lots of fun. All the things. Being an adult is fun. Did you guys do anything fun for the anniversary? Yeah, so we are also cute. Um our anniversary is May 17th. So we got married for similarly funny reasons. I wanted a spring wedding. Like I love the rain. I wanted April because I don't care. I don't like need the perfectly sunny June wedding. Get them off rate. All of my friends, like, we're getting married at the same time. So I think two, two or three of my bridesmaids, we all had weddings within like a month of each other. So I had to like pick around shower dates and their weddings. And so um it, you know, I think at the time, for like a second I thought it was, but I love these people, and they all had their own reasons for picking those days, and I ended up loving our day because Tyler and I like fight about when we officially started dating, and we always just said it was mid-May. So our wedding anniversary is now mid-May. Mid May. Mid-May-ish is actually what we always said. So um, yeah, May, and it was like perfectly uh, I think it was like 50 something and a little cloudy. It was great. Um, we I would not compromise on having a video of our wedding. I think if anyone's planning their wedding right now, budget for a video. Because like my speech, my my sisters did the best made of honor speech ever at any wedding ever. And I would have lost that if I didn't have a video. So I I would have just had the memory. You would have had it the memory. So whatever. Um, so we actually every year we watch our video. Like we truly do. We used to do that. I know. Actually, we missed one year because I think maybe we were moving and it was like in a box. Um yeah, because we moved actually the same thing. We moved Memorial Day weekend is when we bought our house. So um anyway, we do that every year. This year I'm gonna not drop subtle hints, but instead just like text Tyler a picture of what I think we should do because our anniversary falls on a Sunday. And there's cute, like, have you seen quarantine date night ideas where they like put like the bed of a pickup truck and they have like a little picnic? I think that's adorable. We don't have a pickup truck, but maybe we can find one.

Another good one. I'm gonna recommend a book. It's been out for a little bit, and you maybe have seen it, but um I really enjoyed reading it. It was recommended to me by a friend. And if you like history and pop culture and things that kind of take a little different slant on history, the book's called Salt. Uh, subtitled A World History, and it's by Mark Kalarski, and it's a very interesting way of explaining you take salt for super granted, it's just there in the packets that come with your takeout, and you throw them out because you don't need them. I save them. Also, iodized table salt is the grossest thing in the world. Okay, Nick. Use kosher salt. That's your splurge from Nick Vorpegle, everybody? No. Use kosher salt. I know it is so true. Diamond brand kosher salt. Like, don't buy anything else.

We love pork tenderloin because leftover, yeah, it's great on salads. It's healthy.

So what I have learned is that people are ordering whole chickens, which like probably isn't rocket science to other people, but it it caught my attention, like, oh, what could we do with a whole chicken? Because honestly, that's just not something I do. I love chicken, but I'm usually cooking the same types. So we have a recipe or instructions rather on doing a baked cut-up chicken. So taking a whole chicken and being able to use all of the pieces and make delicious, a delicious meal or many meals out of it.

And like, they're not cheap for what they are.

So um she and I are gonna try and make them, I think, at some point because or maybe I could just like stop eating my kids' food and eat regular yogurt like an adult, but I love these.

That's my Elliot story. He's the worst. I don't know. But my Simona story. Oh, you have a kid. I have a kid. Yeah, okay. Simona, uh, the best. So we we we built this house for her, more or less. We were fine in the condo by ourselves, but she needs nice things. Yes, you know. She she deserves it. She's she's she's the light of my life. And we decided she needed a beautiful house in this beautiful finished basement for her to put all of her crap down here and play with it. Oh, yes. What we recently decided to get her was a little walker thing for her to walk around. Oh, yeah. And we have a huge open live-in area with live-in area. Living area with wood floors, and she has, I don't know, a thousand square feet, let's call it, to just roam around on her walker. I have never seen her so happy.
